H0NDURAS ORIGIN TRIP 2025

Bjørnar just came back from Honduras after visiting our friends there together with Yusho from Fuglen Coffee Roasters Tokyo.

It wouldn't be a Honduras trip if we didn't spend time with our dear friend Benjamin Paz. We work very closely with Benjamin and have done so for several years, together with his family company San Vincente. Bjørnar and Yusho spent a good amount of time with Benjamin visiting both of his coffee farms, La Leona and La Salsa. Benjamin has helped develop the specialty coffee production in the Santa Barbara region of Honduras, which now has many cup of excellence winners. He is incredible innovative and currently working on several projects that focus on regenerative farming practices.

One of the stops was to Los Tongos, run by Carlos David Castillo, son of Israel de Jesus Castillo. Los Tongos is a staple on our coffee menu and we are looking forward to buying more coffee from here as they have recently acquired a second plot of land. We often have several interesting varietals from Los Tongos including Pacas, Pacamara, & SL-28. However due to low yields, this will likely be that last year they grow Pacamara. Keep an eye out for this coffee coming to our shelves soon!

Heyvis Sagustame also welcomed Yusho and Bjørnar at Finca Los Quetzales. This operation always impresses as they have such a high attention to detail with exceptional standards of quality. Every year their hard work pays off as their yields are continuously above average. We have been building a strong relationship with the Sagustame Family for a number of years and look forward to continue working together!

After Bjørnar left, Yusho continued on to visiting the Moreno family & Caballero family, both of which Fuglen Coffee Roasters Tokyo has been working with for several years.
