Ferney Macias is a true family farmer - his mother owns the farm adjacent to his 33 hectare farm where he and his brothers manage production of the coffee at El Progresso. Ferney is heavily involved in working with his coop, Coocentral, where he regularly cups his as well as other producers coffees to become better acquainted with the quality he is producing.

The family started the La Ceja farm in 1999. It has 33 ha, and 22ha are planted with coffee, consisting of Castillo, Colombia, F6 and Caturro.  They have different facilities such as a cherry hopper, a floating pool, a drying marquesina and a greenhouse - as well as a lovely farmhouse. The Quimbo dam can be seen from the farm and provides water to the whole Huila department. Besides La Ceja farm, the Macias family also own Mil Granos de Oro, which is only a car ride away from the main farm.
